Malacca - Dutch doit


After the capture of Malacca from Portuguese,the first Dutch Governor immediately introduced Dutch coinage of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie or V.O.C (Dutch East India Company) into Malacca in February 1641.
Coins struck in the Netherlands at various provincial mints for the Dutch verenigde oostindische compagnie EAST INDIA COMPANY 1602-1799 for use in the Netherlands East Indies (N.E.I)
THE SEVEN PROVINCES OF HOLLAND (NETHERLAND) ARE GIVEN BELOW:
1.PROVINCE OF HOLLAND (HOLLANDIA) "HOLL"
2.PROVINCE OF WEST FRIESLAND (WESTFRISIA) "WESTF"
3.PROVINCE OF ZEELAND (ZEELANDIA) "ZEEL" OR "ZEL"
4.PROVINCE OF UTRECHT OR STAD UTRECHT (TRAIECTUM) "TRAI"
5.PROVINCE OF GELDERLAND (GELRIA) "GEL"
6.PROVINCE OF OVERIJSEL OR OVERYSSEL (TRANSISULANIA) "TRANSI"
7.PROVINCE OF GRONINGEN (did not issue any coins for the N.E.I)
