The Javanese silver massa from Daha & Djenggala period
The earliest Javanese coins indentified to date appear to have been minted at the end of the 8 century or at the beginning of the 9th century AD.They were minted in Mataram.
This silver massa coin struck and circulated in Java during the 10th and 11th centuries.During the Javanese Daha and Djenggala period but commonly called "Majapahit Money".
The coin is more stylish than the earlier from cailendra period.
Devanagari charater "MA" on obverse,an abbreviation of "MASSA" is 20 RATTI same standard weight of both Gold & Silver

DIAMETER: 13MM
